So, of course Yesterday’s entry and comic were an April Fool’s joke. Light Years Away is not going anywhere, and on Monday we will be back with the comic proper. As April Fool’s jokes go though, this one was quite successful for us, we had 4 times as many hits on the website as we get, even on our best days. Adam got called and congratulated on his new job, and I got an email from a movie news site asking for more information on Bad Boys 3000 (and of course I lied to them: “the studio is so confident that the movie has been given an infinite budget.”)
Another, and unexpected, result was the outpouring of Light Years Away love that we got. Thank you to everyone who told us that they loved the comic and didn’t want to see it end. We love it too, and it isn’t going anywhere. Feel free to leave comments here anytime and let us know what you think of what we are doing, we love to hear from you guys, positive or negative anytime.
Adam and I continued the prank over our twitter accounts, posting further pictures of ourselves with Bad Boys 3000 stars:

And know that, even if we were offered mega jobs elsewhere, we would still make time for Light Years Away and Fat Baby. Not even Terry Crews could steal us away.
I guess a bit of an explanation is required right? Light Years Away was not supposed to end this way. This first storyline was originally a 72 page script, and we planned to take it there, and follow it up with book after book, but then something happened, something Marvelous.
Through he magic of this here internet, it seems that the one – the only- the extremely talented Michael Bay stumbled upon Light Years Away. That’s right, the Michael Bay. One of our all time favorite film makers. And he fell in love with Clipper.
Michael asked Adam and I to fly down to L.A. To have a meeting with him, what he proposed at this meeting was nothing short of life changing for us. Michael wanted Clipper to be a character in his next Blockbuster, Bad Boys 3000. And he wanted me to co-write the script with him and for Adam to oversee story boarding and production design.

Michael, Adam and I, Meeting at Hot L.A. Nightspot FLUMP to discuss Bad Boys 3000
Bad Boys 3000 is a true sequel to the beloved Bad Boys franchise. It is also a Prequel to Light Years Away. Smith and Lawrence are frozen so that their particular brand of crime fighting can be taught to the denizens of the future. Once thawed they are set on the trail of Clipper (played by Terry Crews) a new breed of cybernetic criminal, and in order to catch him, they’ll need to embrace cybernetics themselves, becoming more than man, more than machine, more than the law.

Anyway, please wish Adam and I luck in our new endeavors, we won’t forget where we got our start. Thanks for the great ride.
There were two Fat Baby updates over the weekend:
Fat Baby #44: Clothes that Make the Man.
And
Fat Baby #45: The Package
Dudes, sorry these were late this week, but Adam’s scanner is now fixed and we are back on track.
